*A linguistic degree alone does not make a good medical and pharmaceutical translator*

Apart from linguistic proficiency, it requires many other skills: accuracy, up-to-date technical knowledge, attention to detail, understanding of regulatory laws.

Chiara Pallotti is an Italian translator with a degree in Technical and Scientific Translation. She has been working since 2009 as a research assistant in clinical trials, so she has the right expertise to deliver reliable and precise translations from English and Spanish into Italian, her mother tongue, in the Life Science field.

*About Chiara

Chiara Pallotti is an Italian translator specialising mainly in Life Science translation, from English and Spanish into Italian. She obtained a BA in Translation and Interpreting in 2006 and an MA in Technical and Scientific Translation in 2008, both from the University of Genoa (Italy). During her university studies, Chiara spent a few months abroad to study (Nottingham Trent University, 2005-2006) and to work (Edinburgh, 2008-2009).

After university, Chiara interned in an Italian translation agency for a few months. She has been working since 2009 at the Istituto Giannina Gaslini, a paediatric hospital located in Genoa (Italy), for the Paediatric Rheumatology InterNational Trials Organization (PRINTO), where she is responsible for data management of academic and sponsored phase III and IV clinical trials in paediatric rheumatology. This has allowed Chiara to develop her deep interest for medicine and biology and to offer specialised translation services in these fields. Chiara also obtained the MedDRA coder certification in March 2014.
